Oct 24, 2017 (SPS) – the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Frente POLISARIO received on Monday a delegation from Dominica, consist of MP and the President of the Opposition, Mr. Lenox Linton and Former Ambassador of Dominica to the United Nations, Mr. Crispin Grigwar.
During the meeting, the delegation of Dominica expressed its steadfast solidarity with the Saharawi people's just struggle, expressing regret for the silence of the international community towards the suffering of the Saharawi people, which lasted for more than four decades.
“The United States has consistently raised concerns about the destabilizing nature of Iran’s activities, including Iran’s support for Hezbollah and other terrorist groups,” the US State Department told MAP in a comment on Morocco’s recent decision to sever ties with Iran because of the military support its ally, Hezbollah, has extended to the Polisario.
Iran “remains a designated State Sponsor of Terror and Hezbollah remains a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization,” the State Department added.
“The United States seeks our partners’ support to neutralize Iran’s destabilizing influence, constrain its aggression — particularly its support for terrorism and militants — and restore a more stable balance of power,” the State Department said.
100 members of Polisario members joined the ranks of ISIS, according to the head of the Moroccan Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), Abdelhak El Khiam.
“Terrorist organizations and criminal networks travel all along the Sahel region”, said the bureau’s director, Abdelhak El Khiam, adding that “100 members of Polisario joined ISIS.”
BCIJ, which has been contributing in shaping Morocco’s reputation as a country efficiently fighting terrorism, thanks to its security services, pointed out that regional cooperation is necessary in combating terrorism.
