Deputy Leader of the United Workers Party, Joshua Francis, has walked out of a delegate’s conference now being held in Mahaut.

On his Facebook page, Francis said he was repeatedly interrupted when he went to address the conference and not to respond to a proposed resolution against him.

“I did not get a chance to speak because the delegates would keep interrupting me,” he wrote. “I had no choice but to walk out ….another sad day for the UWP and Dominica’s politics.”

The party is presently holding the conference in Mahaut and had announced recently that a motion of no confidence would be tabled against Francis, who has been embroiled in controversy recently.

Political Leader of the party, Lennox Linton, has already made it publicly clear that resignation by Francis would be the honorable thing to do.
