The Government of Dominica has decided to bring back Kiddies Carnival.
The Ministry of Tourism proposed the idea, as it was felt that seeing that the children are our future, we must provide them with the avenue to be creative, for their talents to be show cased, and to provide them with a safe environment to do this.
The Junior Chamber International Dominica (JCI) has collaborated with the Dominica’s Festivals Committee(DFC) to revive Kiddie’s Carnival.
The event is carded for Sunday 3rd March 2019 under the theme ‘come as you like’.
The idea of the Kiddie’s Carnival is to provide children with the opportunity to publicly portray their school’s “come as you like costumes.”
“As we know, the Friday before carnival, students from preschool, all the way up to high school get an opportunity to wear a come as you like costume at their respective schools. Kiddies Carnival provides the opportunity for students to take those same great costumes and not only show them to their school friends but to Dominica.”
The Kiddies Carnival will begin with a parade which will commence from the Bayfront near the Arch. It will continue through Kennedy Avenue to Carnival City (Windsor Park Stadium Forecourt) where the event will take place.
Interested persons are advised to register online via the JCI website or do so within their respective schools.
