FB Experts, are you?

I have something to say about FB posts that may be extrapolated to other avenues for expression or media.

If you cannot produce a factual source for your data do not expect me to weight it on par with data for which I have a reputable source.  I am very willing to change my conclusions about a topic once factual data is presented to me.

But it is not a fact just because you say it.  It's not a fact just because it angers you or makes your enemies or opponents look bad.  It is not a fact just because it panders to your already molded view about someone or a group of people or a subject matter.  People can say, post, comment, argue, meme, theorize or defend anything.

And just because I do not have the same emotional melt down you did about it does not make me "less woke", "stupid", "culpable", "blind", "dumb", "evil", "enabling" or whatever label you choose to paste on others and their opinions simply because they disagree with yours.

I am just different from you. Damn proud of it too!

Seeking truth is the only way to keep yourself aware and on track with what's happening. Seeking sensational headlines is a sure fire way to distract you from what's important.  Keep the emotion out of fact checking!
And another thing, disagreeing with you is not evidence that I agree with your opponent. Variety of thought is infinite. I can have a completely novel one!

In conclusion, the way you see something in the absence of a verifiable source can differ widely from how another person sees it. It does not make them less smart than you. You are not more "woke" just because you have a more aggitated response than they do. The hashtag #staywoke has great meaning but its indiscriminate use to minimize the opinions of others is concerning.

One can only "stay woke" if they actually woke up in the 1st place. Its too easy to dream that you are awake. Just ask those people who woke up to wet beds when they were very sure they "woke up" to go to the bathroom the night beforehand.
