WHEN THEY GO LOW
LABOURITES MUST GO HIGH

I have said it before, and this is the crux of the Prime Minister’s point, if not a degree, a diploma, or a certificate, why not a single noteworthy achievement in life to distinguish him as worthy to be trusted with the mantle of leading a country.

The ‘storm in a tea cup’ Sukie conversation is another distraction unfortunately and unwittingly fed by the candidate for Roseau Central. In active politics everyone has an opinion. In fact everyone is entitled to have an opinion whether it be Sukie or the young men on the bloc looking for a joint to smoke. We all have to be tolerant of opinions. We may not agree and if we choose we may show the fallacy of it.

We must learn not to attack the messenger unless the messenger professes to be deceptive in their obstinacy to correct a clearly wrong or mischievous assertion.
Sukie could’ve been dismissed as missing the Prime Minister’s Marigot point that Lennox Linton was no more than a non-achiever in life and manifestly unqualified for the job. This has nothing to do with being degreed or certified.

But for Lennox Linton to knowingly fall into arithmetic error in giving Dominica $1.2B extra in CBIP revenue and persist with it when shown that his calculus is flawed is to deal with professional dishonesty. It is compounded when as a wannabe Leader he lacks the humility to stop supporters of his party from chanting ‘whey de money gone’ to offer public spectacle. No such money exists. It is no different to Donald Trump’s 13 second pause to allow his faithful to chant ‘send them back’ in reference to four citizens of his country.

Labourites must go high when they go low and must be prepared to match their ignorance with the force of truth and reasoning.

All the best for a really huge St Joseph rally this afternoon.
