Marigot Hospital Update
June 2020

Following the successful housing developments, the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica has ventured into a new agreement with Montreal Management Consultants Est. (MMCE) to build the new Marigot Hospital.

The 40,000 square feet two-floor hospital will have a 75-bed capacity, as well as a wide range of essential services and modern state-of-the-art facilities.

Services to be provided by the New Marigot Hospital will include Ambulatory Services, Emergency Care, Intensive Care (ICU), Maternity and Paediatric Care, Laboratory and Radiology Services and Trauma Centre.

The construction of the hospital will be fully funded by the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programme, Dominica’s lifeline for Building Back Better.

Meanwhile, the US $5-million grant from the Government of Mexico will be used to help meet the cost of equipping the hospital.

Upon completion, the hospital will attend the immediate health needs of the people in Marigot Health District – which includes communities of Marigot – Concord, Kalinago Territory, Wesley, Woodford Hill, Palm Tree, Calibishie, Bense and Anse D’ Mai along with the Douglas-Charles Airport.

With Rayneau Construction as the contractor, the project is envisaged to completed within 12 months.
