The government of Dominica has commenced building 12 Health Centers across the country in locations which are Vieille Case, Colihaut, Mahaut, Wesley, Bellevue Chopin, Newtown, Marigot, Penville, Geogetown, Ansé De Mai, Bagatelle and Sourfriere. The Health Centers will be community-based and patient-directed aiming to deliver high-quality primary health care services.
The initiative was introduced to further expand the government’s intent to provide easy access to health care facilities for all sections of the community from the most vulnerable upwards being a fully inclusive health care access policy.
Each health center will consist of:
Ground Floor
- 2 Clinics
- Male and Female Rest Areas
- Ambulance (Emergency room)
- Nurses (Treatment Room)
- Store Vaccines
First Floor
- 2 Bedrooms with 2 single beds each
- Living/Dining Room
- Kitchen
- Bathroom
- Balcony
- 2 Dr. Rooms
