Block-to-Farm- Wesley Constituency Agricultural Project 

Update:- Block-to-Farm-to-Market! 

Join me in congratulating the group of young people of the Wesley Constituency who are hard at work on the Block-to-Farm Agricultural Project.

They have been busy planting. So far, they have harvested Lettuce and String Beans. 

They also have Bell Peppers which will be ready for harvest in a few weeks. 

During this week, they harvested and sold several hundred pounds of Cantaloupe.  

These young men sought and found local markets for their produce; they are encouraged and very excited about the high demand for more produce. I am extremely proud of them!

Many thanks to the local supermarkets, Restaurants and Caterers who have been purchasing their produce. Thanks to the Chinese Technical Mission for the support.

The project is designed to train these young people for a commercial/businesslike approach to farming,  especially to ensure consistent quality and supply of produce. They will also be trained on how to manage income from sales in order to sustain the project/business. 

There is money to be made in Agriculture and I encourage young people to return to the land!
