Revised Isolation and Quarantine Protocols




A covid case is defined as any patient with a rapid antigen test or PCR test (positive)

Symptomatic: must be admitted to gov isolation: where PCR test is done on day 5: if positive, the patient will complete 14 days of isolation and will be discharged following at least three days without symptoms, if the PCR test done on day 9 is negative, the patient will be medically discharged 

Asymptomatic: vaccinated: with a positive test you get a wrist band and a certificate indicating a positive test result, with a recommendation for home isolation, the wristband will be removed by the healthcare provider on the 11th day 

Asymptomatic: unvaccinated: quarantined at a gov approved isolation: day 5: an antigen test is repeated: if positive: 10 days isolation before being medically discharged. If done on day 5 and it is negative, the patient will be sent home with a wrist band for an additional 5 days of home isolation which means you will complete a total of 10 days of isolation: the wrist band will be removed on the 11th day 

Home isolation: take supplements and medication prescribed and must-have masks, hand sanitisers, thermometer to take daily readings and report the temperature to the district health team. Contact info will be provided. Also, a list of guidelines for home isolation will be provided

Bracelet technology will be used to monitor home-quarantined, barcoded bracelets to all returnees to make sure they will not leave their homes.
