Someone who looks like us

Often times I hear,  "We as local people should benefit from contracts. More locals should benefit from the CBI because it is our money. That we should look out for its people.

That too many none Dominican people are benefitting.

Gregor Nassief, a local, has a CBI project.. nobody seems to have an issue with that.

But Alick Lawrence a local black Dominican should not.

Sam Raphael should not.

Duncan Stowe should not.

Ian Edwards should not, a man from River Street

And indeed Floyd Capitolin should not.

The Russian investor has a project but nobody talks about him instead we talk about John Collin McIntyre who has no interest, or benefit from the project except as Parl Rep he pushed for the project to benefit those whom he represented.

We as a nation sit and have issues with local black and indigenous people being empowered while the people of other races are buying out Roseau and other parts of the country.

What is there for the government to "defend"? Maybe we should go back to the days when only those with a surname and pedigree would benefit from Governments policies in education and contract awards and upward mobility.

OCEAN EDGE

If there is something to defend then as always I will stand even if it is only me to defend the party's progressive policies of empowerment.

It is disheartening that the main issue we seem to have with the decision is who the developer is...one of us... someone who looks like us...
