THE STORY BEHIND LENNOX LINTON RESIGNATION
Information leaked from an inside source revealed that Lennox Linton became upset because those he referred to as backstabbers accused him of using the money he raised from the radiophons held on Q95 radio to pay his bills and gave the Party not a cent to pay its debts.
Linton said he was not receiving a salary from the the UWP and yet still many of them didn't like him and kept backstabbing him. He said his intention was to give up everything and say goodbye but changed his mind when he remembered that after he was deported from Antigua he finished the soles of his shoes looking for a job and nobody hired him.
Linton went on to say that he will stay on as the Marigot member of Parliament because if he makes the mistake and resign, then his dog is dead. He will lose his salary as member of parliament and opposition leader and will be jobless again.
He went further to say that no one is going to push him out of the way to run for Marigot in the next election. He said that this is where his bread is buttered. He also said that if the backstabbers think they are going to send a candidate to replace him in Marigot he will run as an independent.
Linton admitted that what broke the camel's back and put him in hot water is when he signed a deal to raise money from selling ambassadorships for $400,000.00 US each. He said although it was to help the same backstabbers who at that time had no money to run a campaign they still threw him under the bus.
The fact remains that Linton in an assessment of himself also came to the conclusion that he will never become the Prime Minister of Dominica. So he said that staying on as political leader was a waste of time. Imagine he didn't even wait to step down at the UWP delegate conference to be held next month. He said f---them.
