Matthew Walter: A Disgruntled Labourite's Battle Against the Flow of Progress

MATHEW WALTER SHOULD EITHER GO WITH THE FLOW OR GET SWEPT BY THE FLOW WITH OR WITHOUT HIM THE LABOUR SHIP WILL STAY AFLOAT

It is true that Matthew Walter must be praised for his sterling contribution to the development of the Paix Bouche Constituency. However, every man has a right to decide his own destiny. Also, there also comes a time when the best of friends must part.

Mathew Walter is just a disgruntled labourite who is on an exercise of futility to please his selfish ego. He and those cheering him on must be careful that they don't end up in the garbage bin of history.

There was war in heaven and Satan and his soldiers were conquered and banished. Jesus had 12 disciples and one betrayed him and later hanged himself. When an airplane crashes it doesn't prevent a next one from flying.

All honor and praise to the late Prime Minister Rosie Douglas who set us on the path to where we are today as the ruling Dominica Labour Party.

The vast majority of Labourites have no problem with PM Roosevelt Skerrit our dear leader. Mathew Walter is no position to decide what the Labour party or PM Skerrit must do. He must realize that he is now a spent force and that the younger generation is taking over.

Rosie Douglas before he died told me that we worked hard to get to where we are today - putting government back into the hands of the working people. So we must work harder not to lose what we have gained.

Those words were spoken to me by Rosie Douglas at meeting between just the two of us at the Windward Passage Hotel during his visit to St. Thomas when he was Prime Minister.

We spoke for two hours and he discussed with me his plans for the development of Dominica. He told me what he is revealing to me he can't discussed it with his cabinet ministers because it was above their level.

I was a close confidant or Rosie Douglas. He and I travelled to Guyana to meet with President Forbes Burnham. Also, Rosie sent me to Russia, North Korea, Cuba and England.

During our meeting, Rosie told me that the leftist elements- the off-shoot from the Alliance party who were serving in his cabinet had not buried the hatchet and were conspiring against him.

I was flabbergasted when Rosie told me that the only person he saw as his successor for Prime Minister was Roosevelt Skerrit and no one else. So Rosie before he died saw the potentials in Skerrit to lead the country.

Prime Mister Roosevelt Skerrit in now in the process of laying down the ground work for passing on the torch as he gets ready to retire. Mathew Walter should either go with the flow or he will be swept by the flow.

For now, Mathew Walter is just a distraction. He will fry in his own oil while we get on with the business of building our international airport and consolidating the gains of the Dominica Labour pay government.

Paul
