Visa Restrictions:  Dominica Shall Overcome

What is it that Africans & People of African and Indigenous descent did to the Europeans & Americans? You refuse to give us Reparations yet you disrespect our Independence. You believe that you have a right to dictate to us,  even sovereign states just how we must conduct our affairs. You give us nothing but owe us everything. It isn't the first time that you have imposed policies that have been directed to destroy our economies. We shall eventually prevail over you for good is superior to evil. 

EU and UK and the others who despise developing nations,  The wrath of the God of Elijah shall fall upon you. Your moment is at hand. You build your regions on the backs of our people.  You destroyed our means of economic sustainability.  You have brainwashed many of our so-called intellectuals into hating their very own. You have committed unspeakable atrocities and wiped out millions. You have raped,  murdered, and tortured our economies What else are you Neo Colonialist willing to do ---Imposition of a draconian security tax regime on the proceeds of sale coming from CIP of Third World or developing jurisdictions? 

The Caribbean remains to be a zone of peace.  We don't harbor nor encourage terrorism. If anything we have become the victims of acts of terror in several ways.  We don't manufacture narcotics or weapons but we have suffered the consequences of those who do. Whatsoever you do unto the least of these my brothers,  that you do unto me. Those of us who for political expediency remain joyful & supportive of these unjust measures taken. You must be told that actions are being instituted to legally challenge these visa restrictions by many international agencies. Are we aware of the controversies associated with such measures & implications for Small Island Developing States?  There is so much to this that the unlearned eye shant see nor unsuspecting mind discern. However, there are some in our midst who know better but their posture is influenced by regime hatred and regime change. & Skerrittian jealousy. 

We are also fully aware of the Electioneering timing of such measures by the Tories:  a Party which is swimming on the tidal wave of a massive electoral defeat at the hands of Labour. If we don't deal with this issue seriously and as a regional  grouping,  there is the prospect of it negatively impacting regional integration. Dominica runs the best CIP in the world and it remains to be a major revenue earner for the OECS . The restrictions imposed and those planned shall hurt the economies of these countries and Caricom. The pending demise of the US Dollar which our EC Dollar is begged to does not augur well for the OECS hence making these restrictions more devastating.

The Government of Dominica has managed a program that remains the envy of many. We must stand firmly with our Prime Minister Hon Dr.  Skeritt and our government in defending & protecting this program. Its policy framework and operational mechanisms are not bathed in cement.  They remain to be subjected to continuous objective  review and professional evaluation by the leading experts in the world.

Long live progressive social democratic governments within the Caribbean and elsewhere. There isn't anything to fear but Yahweh.  We shall overcome.
