Melvina’s Question to Dr. Fontaine

Melvina from Point Michel wants to know: “Dr. Fontaine, people gave money to help bring people to the city for the event. But only 300 came, and most didn’t need transport. Where did the rest of the money go?”

What Happened

- Money Raised: $14,000 was collected for transport and refreshments.  

- Turnout: Only 300 people came. Most lived nearby and didn’t need transport.  

- Transport Cost: If 100 people used transport (round-trip at $7 each), that’s $1,400.  

- Refreshments: None were given, not even water.  I was thirsty and the rest of the elderly 

Melvina’s Concern

Melvina asks: “Why didn’t the UWP explain how they used the money? People trusted them, but now they’re confused.  I well need a money to fix my teeth. 

Why Transparency Matters  

- If leaders don’t explain how money is spent, people lose faith.  

- We the people  deserve to know their money was used for its purpose.  

What Dr. Fontaine Should Do

1. Tell everyone how the $14,000 was used.  

2. If money wasn’t used properly, say sorry and fix it.  

3. Build Trust: Show the UWP cares about honesty.
