Why Thadeus James Should Stay Out of Dominica Politics
Let’s be real: Thadeus you haven’t lived in your homeland for a decade or more, you stopped by once on a Cruise ship, you have no business voting in its elections or dictating its policies. You said you won't vote again.
A recent statement put it bluntly: "A person in the diaspora living for 10 years should not come back and vote—they’re disconnected from the day-to-day reality of the island." And you know what? They’re absolutely right. We don't want tour disconnected advise Periot.
1. You Don’t Live Here, So You Don’t Feel the Consequences
- Voting isn’t just a right—it’s a responsibility. And that responsibility means living with the results of the policies you support.
- How can someone who enjoys Donald Trump's policies, first-world unaffordable healthcare truly understand what it’s like to live in the Caribbean?
- You left. That’s fine. But don’t pretend you still know what’s best for the people who never love their country Dominica and have no intention on leaving.
2. Thadeus James your Nostalgia Isn’t a Strategy Plan, as you was not the brightest Blub in any of your classes. How many debts do you currently owe in Dominica?
- Many diaspora members are stuck in the past, remembering a homeland that no longer exists.
- You might think you know what’s needed because you grew up there, but economies change, societies change, and struggles evolve.
- Your advice from 10, 20, or 50 years ago is irrelevant. The people on the ground know what’s happening right now.
3. If You Really Cared, You’d Come Back
- Remittances are helpful, but money doesn’t equal lived experience.
- If you’re so passionate about “fixing” the homeland, why not return and contribute directly?
- Until then, your opinions are just basement armchair activism—easy to preach from a distance, with no skin in the game.
